What's Next for Accounting? - Issue #52

What's Next for Accounting?
🤖 Automate My Thing
Automate Your Phone!
The nice thing about emails/messages is at least they give you a paper trail. Phone calls? Notsomuch.
Yesterday I ran through how to automatically log phone calls to your CRM (because getting humans to do this is an exercise in futility). You could even build in auto-follow-ups to whoever was on the call, to capture any details discussed.
Most VOIP providers have an API, just like the rest of our cloud apps. But we rarely think to integrate it with the rest of our tech stack.
A couple other interesting ideas that came from the discussion on the thread:
  • On missed calls, you could auto-text the caller. If you don’t take calls, maybe this is a link to your scheduling page, or general info about how to get in touch
  • Karbon’s API allows for contact searches by phone number, so this could definitely be built for Karbon users
  • Pulling a full, searchable transcript of the call into your CRM would be 🧠🧠
