🤖 Automate My Thing
Automatically Split A Bill Between Related Entities
😅 Easy 🕰️ 30 minutes
This week I shared a thread about my favorite use cases for Zapier’s QuickBooks “Create Bill” action.
Let’s say you have a monthly IT bill that’s split across 15 related entities. When you receive the invoice via email, the automation completes the following steps:
  • Auto-forward the invoice email to Zapier
  • Post the bill to the books of the QB file of the company that was invoiced
  • Split the bill amount 15 ways
  • Creates and sends invoices to all 15 related co’s and/or
  • Create bills in all 15 related co’s in each of their QB files, for their share of the bill
Whether it’s a single bill you received via email that simply needs to be posted to the accounting, or a bill that’s split umpteen different ways, Zapier can get you there automatically.
The process is the same for Xero, and Make can get you there as well.
Earlier this year I shared a bunch of ways to post entries to a QB file from an email in this 10-minute video.
